Have a strawberry salad and join me in L.A. for a huge giveaway from Bertolli Foods

That's right. Bertolli Foods is sending me to Los Angeles for a "meet and greet" Celebrity Chef Event with Rocco DiSpirito (it's fate - we were both born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York City) and a culinary tour of the City of Angels. Better yet, they want one of you to come with me. Are you free May 10-12? (Yes this May 10, 2010). Feeling adventurous? Wanting new sights, new sounds, new aromas and new tastes? Bertolli foods is taking care of your transportation, hotel and meals.

What do you need to do? It's simple - for four days, I will be airing a webisode of Bertolli's Into the Heart of Italy. You simply watch the webisode and then leave a comment telling me:

a. your favorite part

b. the "clue"

And whether or not you are interested in participating in this Bertolli giveaway! If you are, please make sure your comment includes a way I can reach you. Four days of comments will be combined and then one will be picked at random.* The giveaway closes Thursday at 8 p.m. when a "comment number" is picked (at 10 p.m.). Then, get ready to pack your bags!

*I am sorry, my international friends, but the giveaway applies to the continental United States only. Winner must be available to travel May 10-12.

The webisodes are easy on the eyes - it's a few minutes a day under the Tuscan sun. I travel vicariously through cooking, why not through webisodes?

  2. Oh Claudia, wish you could enter. I will work like a demon at home (am very much not retired) to be ahead of myself. Changed meetings, changed rehearsals... but yes, am very lucky to be able to schedule myself!

  5. Where to start? This is such a fun chance for you and a reader. I love the whole episode - especially making the farfalle. And the clue of parmigiano reggiano - yes, yes parmigiano - the king of cheeses.

  7. You know my husband is in LA that week and it would have been so much fun for me to be there too but I do have to stay with my little one here. I'm looking forward though to virtually living this experience through you :)

  8. Another exciting culinary adventure for you, Claudia. Best of luck. I wish I could be free to join you, but, alas, work and life beckons. (And it would have been nice to meet you in person!) How lucky for you to meet up with Rocco; he's a CIA grad and has been back to the valley on occasion.
Safe travel; I look forward to reading all about it.
    Ciao!

  14. Perfect timing, Claudia! I bought a big container of strawberries at Costco this weekend and a strawberry salad sounds good!

Marisa Tormei lived in Brooklyn as a child and attended the same junior high school as my son! My favorite part of this flim clip was Rocco helping her flip the pasta in the large fryng pan to help incorporate the delicious sauce. I have to learn how to do that myself.

I'm retired so I could go those dates if I were lucky enough to win!
The clue(s)were cheese hammer, and parmigiano reggiano cheese.
